For our collections we use the diversity of nature.
We attach great importance to making our goods from natural fibers. We mainly use silk, cotton, linen, lyocell and viscose fibers.Using materials that are made from renewable raw materials is enormously important to us. These are high quality products with a long life and, unlike man-made fibers, are biodegradable. Only for the comfort of some of our garments we also use spandex in small quantities (about 3%).
It is obvious for us to manufacture our products where the raw materials have their origin. We want to avoid unnecessary transport routes and use existing know-how.

Silk
Silk is the main material in our collections, especially our blouses and tunics are made of the finest silk.
The silk fabric is obtained from the cocoons of the silkworm and is therefore an animal natural material and 100% biodegradable.
The manufacturing art of this raw material has been developed 5000 years ago in China. Therefore, since the beginning of IVI collection, we have been working with experienced producers in the country of origin, China, who know how to handle the demanding material excellently due to their deep know-how.
The material silk is breathable, temperature insulating and luxurious at the same time. It is suitable for allergy sufferers and do not retain odors.
Cotton & Organic Cotton
.
Cotton is the most used natural fiber in the world, because it is a renewable raw Matreial and 100% biodegradable. The cotton fiber is breathable, very durable and skin-friendly.
Our goal is to switch more and more to organic cotton. We don’t want to have genetic manipulation and toxic pesticides as part of our production chain, but rely on natural fertilizers and organic pest control. This is the only way we can help preserve the natural and animal kingdoms and save valuable resources such as water. Organic cotton production saves 70-95% of water.
We also want fair working conditions and fair payment. Some of our knitwear is already made from organic cotton.
Linen
Linen is , especially in our summer collections, a very important material because of its airy and cooling properties.
Linen is made from flax fiber. The plant is easy to grow, requires little fertilizer, has high crop yields at the same time and also grows in Germany. Therefore, linen is a renewable raw material and a natural material that is 100% biodegradable.
Important properties of linen are also skin-friendliness, durability and tear resistance. The material is very easy to care and machine washable. Linen wrinkles easily, but this makes the casual linen look.
VISKOSE
CUPRO
TENCEL™LYOCELL
a trademark of Lenzing AG
Viscose is also a natural fiber, because it is obtained from natural raw materials such as eucalyptus, pine- or beech wood and is therefore 100% biodegradable.
Due to its soft feel and noble appearance viscose is very good vegan alternative to silk. The material falls wonderfully light, is pleasant on the skin and gives the clothes a silky shiny look.
Tencel™ Lyocell and Cupro are also cellulose fibers. In addition, Tencel™ Lyocell is the most sustainable pioneer, as it is obtained from wood from controlled and sustainable cultivation. Moreover, the environmentally friendly solvent, which is used to produce the fibers, is recyclable. This creates a closed loop.
Cupro, formerly also called copper silk, has the same properties as viscose and has a very special fabric appearance and handfeel. The name of the cellulose fiber goes back to the manufacturing process in the copper-ammonia process.
LENZING™ ECOVERO™
are trademarks of Lenzing AG
ECOVERO is a viscose fibre produced under much more sustainable conditions than ordinary viscose fibre.
In order to produce viscose in general, the raw material wood is needed.
While wood is used for the extraction of the conventional viscose fibre, the origin of which is not transparently traceable, only wood whose traceability is given is used for the more environmentally friendly LENZING™ ECOVERO™ variant. This ensures that the viscose is made from legally obtained raw materials and that only certified and controlled wood from sustainable forestry is used.
But this is not the only advantage that sets ECOVERO apart from ordinary viscose fibre.
Due to the reduction of energy and water consumption by about 50%, which is made possible by innovative production processes of the company LENZING, the production of ECOVERO is significantly more environmentally friendly and resource-saving than the production of conventional viscose. In addition, shorter transport routes for the raw materials ensure lower emissions.
The handling of chemicals used in the production of viscose is also optimised in the production of LENZING™ ECOVERO™: both the chemicals and the water used are recycled as far as possible.
For its innovative and sustainable production, ECOVERO has been awarded the EU Ecolabel, the EU’s environmental quality mark awarded for meeting high environmental standards throughout a product’s life cycle.
